At SCA Allstars, our tumbling program is built on expertise, safety, and long-term athlete development. Often referred to as floor-based gymnastics, tumbling includes the flipping and acrobatic elements commonly seen in both cheerleading and gymnastics routines. It’s one of our most technical and rewarding programs—and we’re proud to be the leading provider of tumbling and acrobatics in the Shoalhaven.
Our program follows strict, proven progressions that prioritise technique, strength, control, and body awareness. Every athlete begins at the foundation level and progresses step-by-step, developing not just skills, but a deep understanding of movement mechanics and how to safely and effectively control their bodies.
While early progress may feel slow, our method is designed to build strength and consistency—unlocking faster, safer, and more advanced skills in the long run. We always say: trust the process, because it works.
Our program is highly structured, technique-focused, and progress-driven. We know this approach won’t suit every athlete—and that’s absolutely okay.
Our Unique Progression System
Levels A to K (AND GROWING!)

Our progression framework is built on Levels A through K, with each level containing eight carefully curated drills and skill focuses. These levels are designed to create a clear pathway for athletes to follow as they develop. Each skill builds on the last, ensuring a strong foundation before introducing more advanced technique.

This step-by-step approach allows athletes to progress at a pace that suits their individual development. It eliminates gaps in learning, reinforces correct technique, and supports long-term skill retention—making each level a valuable milestone in their tumbling journey.
DRILL-BASED LEARNING

Instead of focusing solely on mastering full tumbling skills early, we prioritise foundational drills that strengthen the body, improve coordination, and refine technique. These drills target key movement patterns that athletes will rely on when performing complex skills later.

Drill-based learning creates confident, body-aware athletes who understand how to execute skills, not just what to do. This approach prevents rushed progress, reduces injury risk, and develops clean, powerful technique that sets athletes apart.
PARTIAL SKILLS & VARIED SURFACES

To ensure safe and well-rounded development, athletes perform partial skills and technique segments across different surfaces. Whether it’s a trampoline, air track, or sprung floor, this method encourages adaptability and safe repetition in controlled environments.

We also emphasise training both sides of the body—not just the dominant one. This creates more balanced athletes, improves muscular symmetry, and builds long-term stability. It’s a crucial part of injury prevention and overall athletic development.
Class Placement &
Athlete Progression
All athletes begin in a class with others of a similar skill level, starting at Tumble A. As skills are developed, athletes move through the levels at a pace that suits their body and readiness.
Ongoing Assessment
• Athletes are assessed regularly throughout the term
• Full evaluations take place at the end of each term
• Mid-term level-ups can be requested via private assessment
Each level is broken into percentages, with each skill contributing to the final score. Once an athlete passes a level, they will receive a certificate of achievement and a comprehensive report, which is also available to families throughout the season to track progress and development.
We kindly ask that athletes do not attend tumbling or acrobatics classes or privates at other facilities, especially if progression is their main goal. Our coaching methods, progressions, and athlete development approach are highly specific, and we dedicate significant time and training to ensure consistency and safety. Cross-training at other facilities may result in conflicting techniques or the development of poor habits that can impact progression and safety within our program.
To support every athlete’s journey, we offer multiple tumbling classes and private sessions throughout the week—ensuring each child has the opportunity to access the coaching and attention they need.

Book a trial in any of our Rec Tumble classes to begin your tumbling journey! These foundational classes guide athletes through Levels A to D, focusing on core skills, strength, and technique. Once an athlete successfully completes these levels, they’ll be invited to progress into our elite-tier tumbling program, where they’ll continue to refine and master more advanced skills.
